 Thursday - June 25, 2020

Its been a long time since I told my story of my new foreever home with Wendy & Kevin.  So many things have happened and I have learned so much.  I sleep in my nice comfy wire kennel at night and Kevin lets me out in the morning so I get to sleep on the bed for a little bit. I like that but they dont like me sleeping on their pillows up near their heads.  I am still working on doing my duties outside in the kennel area they have setup for me. I am doing better and starting to do them there but they want me to go outside thru the dogs doors on my own to go but I like having someone with me. Also there is a pesty Red Fox in the area and I have surprised him when I go outside in the kennel.  He growls at me and Kevin growls back at him and he runs off.  I go for short car rides which is fun , so many things to see in the car and I get to bark at new things.  I have comfy dog beds all over the house and I have custom made doggie quilts made for me that I use on a nice people chair. I am so comfy on that.  Well its off to get a treat, will bark more later.

Saturday - March 21, 2020

I am charlie, a 6 year old Terrier mix rescue dog, at least that's what I have been told by my masters. I lived with an elderly lady for the first 5 years and I was told she could not take care of me and spoil me every day since she was getting older so she gave me to her niece to take care of me. Not sure the details but I found my way to Hope Animal Rescue of Iowa and my foster mom Toni. She took good care of me but I had a few extra buddies (dogs) to play with.

Well, on Saturday March 21, since I don't know what time is I was told this by my masters, Wendy and Kevin came to visit me and my foster mom. I ran to Kevin right away and started kissing and loving on him, he seemed like a nice guy and wanted to pet and hug me. I love hugs and being petted. After slobbering all over Kevin I noticed Wendy was there so I gave her kisses too. They both seemed to really like me with lots of petting and kisses. We got along right away and I liked them. Wendy went to her car and open the door and I decided to jump into the car for fun, let go for a ride. I had to get out since we had more loving to do with lots of kisses and hugs to me from Wendy and Kevin.

I was off to my new home in Minnesota but it was a long 5 hour drive there, so they stopped many times to let me out and do my duties, love sniffing around and making my mark there.  We made it home and I ran around the whole house sniffing everything, what was missing was no dogs or cats around, so it was nice and peaceful.  I adjusted just fine to my new home and masters. They really do love me and slept thru the night on their bed, its was comfy.

 Sunday - March 22, 2020 

I just heard from my masters this is day 1 (full day) of my new life with Wendy & Kevin.  I slept thru the night on their bed, at the end of the bed and sometimes up against Kevin's feet. I wanted to make sure they knew I was there and also to feel their love in snuggling together.  It is a very comfy bed with night blankets on the bed. They even have custom stairs for me to climb on the bed, wow that is nice to have but I am still young so I just jump on the bed from the side, I am a big boy.  I got to explore around their house, in ever room and area. So many new smells and things to see and check out. They even have a big back yard with woods and lots of animals to chase. I am going to enjoy living here and being loved every minute of the day and night. I have nice comfy dog beds in ever room which is great.  I even have a ledge to look outside and bark at the squirrels in the yard, I like that.  Wendy does not seem to like that when she is on the phone at work but I really want to chase that critter in the yard. This is my yard now and I protect it for my masters Wendy and Kevin.  I got my first bath and trim of some hair on my face.  What do think of my look? Do I look like a hot ruff terrier?

 Wednesday - March 25, 2020 

Another day in my new home and I am getting use to my masters Wendy & Kevin.  I started sleeping up near their heads and right next to them, I guess they don't like that , not sure why, I am loving on them sleeping so close and snuggling is fun. They sure roll around a lot in bed.  Sounds like I might have to sleep at the end of the bed so they can get some sleep from time to time.  I am really enjoying my new home and masters Wendy & Kevin.  I am eating their tasty food for dogs and playing with all the toys they have given me.

 Friday - March 27, 2020 

It's Friday!, not sure what means in dog days but my masters are happy its Friday.  I am sleeping very well, but my masters wont let me sleep near their heads, so they want me to sleep down near their feet. I have two comfy blankies there so I am comfy.  While watching TV in the living room, I keep hearing this noise so I start barking, sounds like a door opening but my masters say its just the fireplace starting up so I am learning all the different noises in the house and learning what to bark at.  

I like to watch outside during the day, so many critters out there to bark at and want to chase. I saw some deer in the yard the other day, sure wanted to say hi to them and chase them. I guess me just barking at them scared them off, so not friendly I guess.  I do like barking at squirels and really want to chase them, small little rascals, they are not friendly.... Woof!! 

I am enjoying my new home and masters Wendy and Kevin, they are spoiling me, good food to eat, lots of love and let me bark at squirrels.  I am a lucky dog and enjoying life!

 Wednesday - April 1, 2020 

Another day at my new home and masters Wendy and Kevin.  I am so enjoying this but they still don't let me sleep next to their heads, the pillows are really comfy.  I have been a bit bad this week, I like to protect the person that is holding me or petting me and when another person comes close I growl at them, Wendy and Kevin really don't like that so I am learning not to do that.  

I found standing on the top of the couch is really great for looking outside at all the critters outside.  Those pesty squirrelrs are still out there and I want to chase them. I do like going into the woods here but there are sticky thorny stuff that attaches to my fur and I really don't like them, they bother me when I come into the house.  Well time to go and sleep some more in the nice warm sun in my window perch.

 Sunday - April 19, 2020 

So much has happened in my new home with Wendy and Kevin.  This spring since I have been home there are some new fury friends near the shed, Wendy and Kevin say they are foxes. Momma fox and 6 cubs living under the shed.  I so want to meet them and chase them but Wendy and Kevin will not let me outside when they are around.  Such fury friends to play with and chase.  Oh well, I can bark at them all I want.  I am not sleeping in the bed at night any more, but in a comfy wire kennel by the bed, I rather be in the bed but they want me to sleep in the kennel.  I now have a long lease they put me on in the front yard to run around which is fun.  Off to go watch for the foxes and bark some more.

 Sunday - May 3, 2020

The weather is changing with more sun and warm temps, what ever that means in dog terms. Just what Wendy and Kevin said to me. I have been watching the little furry friends grow up in the yard, I so want to play with them but Wendy and Kevin won't let me, something about moma fox wont like me barking and playing with her pups. Oh woof...

I am doing great here after 6 weeks now, not sure what that is in dog years..  I have a great place to sleep, anywhere in the house and eating good food also. I do like barking at ATV's that go by on the road, so much fun.  I am getting use to sleeping in my wire kennel each night, not so bad now, nice and comfy.
